Ethnotheatre
Stories Across Cultures, Told Through Performance.
My ethnotheatre practice explores how performance can document cultural expression, interrogate social structures, and create dialogue across cultures.
“To Be Heard” is a cultural documentary developed through my work in Xinjiang, exploring Uyghur dance as an expression of cultural identity and everyday life.
“The Cycle of the System” is an original theatrical production I founded, wrote, directed, and performed in as part of Crossroads to Bali, integrating Balinese performance traditions into an exploration of academic pressure and the systems that define success.
Through documentary filmmaking and devised theatre, these projects examine how culture is lived, represented, and reinterpreted—positioning performance as both a means of cultural inquiry and a space for cross-cultural exchange.
